Jornadas Culturais

The event Jornadas Culturais 2014 (Cultural Journeys 2014) celebrates a decade of Jornadas Culturais (Cultural Journeys). Were organized eight meetings throughout the year – promoted by a partnership between Itaú Cultural and Fundação Bunge – to discuss and raise questions about themes related to the memorial centers that gather, preserve and share knowledge acquired over time.

From this concept came out a box-shaped logo (or archive or drawer). Now the visual universe brings deconstructed words related to the activity of memorial centers, which encourage us to search for its understanding, as well as a memory from the past helps in the understanding of present.

The challenge here was to build a solid identity to illustrate the event as well as to produce a questioning on the role of the memorial centers.

Our proposal was to arouse the public curiosity using the deconstruction of words printed onto a silkscreen placed on an exclusive support – in this case the file boxes that set the scenography. The same language was used in the other work pieces, such as the book made of die-cut kraft paper making a reference to the concept proposed.
